SUN Ultra and Entry Level Servers

The original SUN Ultra range was launched in 1995 and continued to impress until 2001. The 64-bit UltraSPARC processor featured in this range. Ultra workstations and the Ultra Enterprise replaced the earlier SPARCstation and SPARCserver series. These have subsequently been replaced by the SUN Blade workstations and SUN Fire server ranges. The Ultra brand was revived in 2005 with the launch of the Ultra 20, 45 etc. but confusingly not all are UltraSPARC-based systems as they feature x64-architecture processors! In any event we can help you make sure the whole range is covered.
The Netra, Blade and Enterprise range complete this entry level portfolio of servers and we love them because they are very solid and reliable. It is true that some components may be harder to find but if you know where to look (and we do!) then there is still plenty of life in these systems. However, you are always only a whisker away from a hardware failure and the only way you can guarantee a solution is to have the perfect blend of available parts and skilled, experienced engineers. It sounds simple, and mostly it is, but we have spent over 20 years perfecting the art of resolving enterprise IT challenges. So, at the risk of revealing our light from under the proverbial bushel, we’re rather good at supporting these!

We have over 15 years experience working with the full SUN range and can provide you with access to references and testimonials from direct clients and channel partners that will show we deliver what we promise and deliver it for less!
As you would expect we have a full complement of SUN trained engineers, administrators and specialists who have plenty of real world experience! In fact, we may argue that our engineers have learned a lot more from practical work in the field than they ever learned from gaining their certificates but it’s still good to have them.

Our aim is to deliver everything that you would expect from having a contract with SUN. However, that is a minimum set of standards.
We know what is usual. We know what is typical. We know general levels of support are ok if a bit expensive. The problem is we don’t do ‘usual’ or ‘typical’ or ‘ok’ as a service level.
